This Privacy Policy explains what information Chef Plated collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to protecting the privacy of chefs and kitchen teams who use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
Account information (name, email, kitchen role, and plan), content you create (menus, recipes, notes, team messages), pricing data you import (e.g. Sysco Order Guides), usage and device information, and payment details processed securely by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers).
2. How We Use Information
To provide and improve the platform, generate AI menus, recipes and cost analysis, manage subscriptions and billing, send transactional and verification emails, provide support, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.
3. AI Processing
Prompts and relevant content you submit are sent to our AI providers to generate outputs. We do not sell your content, and we instruct our providers to process it only to deliver results to you.
4. Cookies & Sessions
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in (including an optional long-lived “remember me” session cookie) and to secure your session. We do not use them to sell your data.
5. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us operate (payments, email, hosting, AI), when you explicitly share content (e.g. public menu links), or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
6. Data Retention & Security
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can manage most data from Settings or contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Children
Chef Plated is intended for professional use and is not directed to individuals under 18.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will note the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
