Data Policy

This Data Policy describes how Chef Plated handles the operational data you and your team create and import, and the controls available to you.
1. Data You Own
Menus, recipes, plating images, cost analyses, purchasing lists, team messages, and imported supplier pricing belong to you. We act as a processor of this data on your behalf.
2. Supplier & Pricing Data
When you import a Sysco Order Guide (CSV/XLSX), we parse it to match ingredients and calculate plate costs. Imported pricing is stored against your organization only and is used solely to power your cost analysis and alerts.
3. Team & Organization Data
If you invite team members, their profiles, roles, and permissions are stored within your organization. Owners and administrators control role-based access to menus, cost data, purchasing, kitchen, and team modules.
4. Data Location & Processing
Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure. AI generation and email delivery involve trusted sub-processors who handle data only to perform their function.
5. Export & Portability
You can export menus, recipes, and prep/cost sheets as branded PDFs at any time. Contact us if you need a broader export of your account data.
6. Deletion
You may delete individual menus and content in-app. Closing your account initiates deletion of your organization’s data, subject to backups and legal retention windows.
7. Backups & Integrity
We maintain routine backups to protect against data loss. Backups are retained for a limited period and then purged.
